Two days to run and walk in the heart of the Sonian Forest

Two days to run and walk in the heart of the Sonian Forest

On October 17 and 18, 2026, the Sonian Forest will be the playground for a weekend entirely dedicated to running, trail running, and nature walking.

Two days, two events, and several ways to discover one of the most beautiful natural spaces on the doorstep of Brussels: the Forêt de Soignes 30 km on Saturday and the Brussels Trail on Sunday.

With the same starting point at the Forêt de Soignes Sports Centre, the weekend will allow everyone to choose their challenge and enjoy the paths and trails of this immense forest area.

Saturday, October 17: the Forêt de Soignes 30 km

On Saturday, long distance takes center stage with the Forêt de Soignes 30 km, offered in two formats: RUN and WALK.

The principle is simple: a large 30-kilometer loop to fully immerse yourself in the forest.

With over 90% unpaved paths, the route gives pride of place to forest trails, wide paths, and long sections under the trees. An endurance challenge that lets you discover the Sonian Forest in a different way and escape the urban atmosphere for a few hours.

Runners will be the first to set off. After their departure, walkers will take their turn on the course. Same distance, same course, and same goal: to reach the finish line after 30 kilometers in the heart of the forest.

Sunday, October 18: time for the Brussels Trail

The next day, a change of format with the Brussels Trail.

This time, four distances will allow you to choose your adventure based on your experience, preparation, and desires:

10 km, 15 km, 20 km or 25 km.

From the discovery format to the endurance challenge, the courses will take participants along the paths and trails of the Sonian Forest.

The 10 km is a great entry point to discover trail running and enjoy a first experience in the forest.

The 15 km offers a balance between fun, discovery, and a sporting challenge.

With the 20 km, the adventure takes on another dimension, allowing you to enjoy a longer immersion in the heart of the forest.

Finally, the 25 km is aimed at runners who want to spend more time on the trails and take on the longest challenge of the Brussels Trail.

Four distances, a challenge for everyone.

A huge playground… to be respected

Organizing such a weekend in the Sonian Forest also means operating in a remarkable and fragile natural environment.

Taking part in the Forêt de Soignes 30 km or the Brussels Trail therefore also means respecting this environment: staying on the planned routes, leaving no litter behind, and following the instructions of the organizers and forest managers.

Our ambition is simple: to enjoy the forest without forgetting that we are only its guests.

It’s your turn. What will your challenge be? Running 30 kilometers? Walking 30 kilometers? A 10, 15, 20, or 25-kilometer trail run?

Or why not take advantage of both days to experience a full weekend in the Sonian Forest?

The Forêt de Soignes 30 km and the Brussels Trail offer two different experiences, but with the same common thread: leave the asphalt behind, step under the trees, and enjoy the pleasure of moving in the heart of nature, just a few kilometers from the center of Brussels.

See you on October 17 and 18, 2026.
